Job Description
JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician
DEPARTMENT: Engineering and Maintenance
Under the general direction of the Engineering Manager, Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for the installation, inspection and repair of all equipment in the plant. The position will be expected to become proficient in repairing and maintaining all production and auxiliary equipment, will need to be familiar with all aspects of the production line, troubleshoot all plant equipment. Must be able to work overtime and rotating shift including being able to work weekends as well.
1. Primary responsibility to keep the Facility and Production equipment in a safe and working order.
2. To troubleshoot, maintain, repair and/or replace (whole or in part) all equipment, machinery, apparatus, electronic components and electrical systems so that the production of quality goods is uninterrupted or with minimal down time
3. Working knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Equipment
4. Safe use of all shop equipment, and that they are in good working order
5. Installation, repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of all machinery, tools and mechanical systems
6. Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the Preventative Maintenance Program.
7. Maintains log of all maintenance orders
8. Communicate and coordinate repair and maintenance issues across shift changes.
9. Work with Engineering Department to maintain adequate inventory.
10. Must be able to work overtime and rotating shift including being able to work weekends as well

1. Ability to work different shifts and additional hours as needed
2. Responsible for repairing, and improving on existing equipment.
3. Install and repair equipment such as motors, pumps, instruments, and lighting systems.
4. Maintain logs, and record labor, materials, and equipment used.
5. Responsible for calibrating and checking instruments.
6. Respond quickly to emergency situations.
7. Perform routine maintenance on production equipment, and perform repairs when necessary.
8. Wire machines and electrical panels in line with prints.
9. Troubleshooting: Identify a problem and proffer logical solutions to them.
Reports to Engineering Manager.
1. Must be a High School graduate or possess a GED.
2. Excellent understanding of safety rules in an industrial setting.
3. Must have ability to analyze and troubleshoot.
4. Must have ability to analyze and troubleshoot equipment repair situations, PLC programs, motor VFDs and other electrical systems.
5. Knowledge of motors, gearboxes, reducers, automation and conveyors to include troubleshooting, repair/maintenance and installation.
6. Thorough knowledge of
Preventive/Predictive maintenance plans.
7. Able to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical circuits 24Vdc to 480Vac. Able to read and interpret electrical schematics relating to the same.
8. Troubleshoot and diagnose hydraulic and pneumatic systems; ability to read and follow schematics.
9. Experience with JD Edwards software a Plus.
10. Must be well organized with strong communication and interpersonal skills and possess the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast:paced work environment.
11. Experience in automation, conveyors a plus
12. Ability to read, write and speak English, required.
Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling and crouching. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools and controls.
