The Senior Mechanic is responsible for preventative maintenance, repair of aggregate plant processing equipment and repair of mobile equipment. As a Senior Mechanic you may perform various roles, including fabrication, welding, cutting, greasing, screen cloth changes, screening maintenance, bearing and pulley change, conveyor maintenance, housekeeping and various other shop or processing duties. The individual hired for this position would be assigned to O’Neal plant with the understanding that the position would transition into a night shift maintenance position at O’Neal during the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2017. Requirements Prioritizes SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by PRODUCTION. Will take an active role in the plant safety initiatives. Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all times. Conducts MSHA pre-shift safety inspections of equipment and work areas. Maximizes performance of stationary equipment by performing repairs and ensuring preventative maintenance is completed on a timely basis. Performs fabrication, erection of processing equipment and repair to processing equipment and mobile equipment. Duties may include checking, repairing or replacing pumps. Ensures Preventative Maintenance services, lubrications services are completed according to Maintenance Module. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Cutting and welding with fabrication Maintain a neat clean work environment with an excellent safety record (actively participate in safety program) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be able to weld and have strong maintenance-mechanical aptitude Minimum of two years experience as Maintenance Mechanic Assertive nature – eager to take initiative Ability to teach others Knowledge and appreciation for production goals and effect of repair costs upon the success of the operation Teamwork oriented who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast paced environment Ability to communicate effectively – written and verbal Knowledge of all related safety regulation Be able to work in very stressful conditions Must be able to work outside up to ten hours per day in all weather conditions Adequate vision and hand-eye coordination to make precise adjustments and repairs to equipment Ability to walk through plants, sometimes on uneven terrain Ability to squat, bend, twist, and stoop, frequently lifting heavy objects up to 75 lbs Ability to climb ladders and catwalks up to 100 foot from ground level approx. four times a day. Be able to work at this level up to ten hours per day Be able to perform duties in a safe manner.
