Vulcan Industries, a subsidiary of EBSCO Industries and leading provider of displays for the retail industry, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer, or an Industrial Designer, who is excited about industrial design and helping Vulcan Industries move forward with new and exciting displays.
The Project Engineer will participate in development of new product design from sales handover through to completion of engineering builds. He/she will develop designs with quality characteristics, with visual brand language and color, material and finish that drive brand equity, and with high levels of usability. He/she will test and evaluate new designs and modifications to ensure they meet customer needs. The Engineer will provide engineering drawings and support to sales and production to facilitate sales, estimating, and fabrication of VI products. Using Pro:E(CREO) he/she will create and/or modify designs based on information received from sales personnel. He/she will also prepare BOMs from engineering drawings for purchasing, estimating, and production purposes. The engineer will also support new product develop by providing initial prints and support to our sample shop for rapid prototyping.
Basic Qualifications:
:BSME or BS in Industrial Design
:At least 4 years employment in a manufacturing environment (sheet metal preferred)
:At least 2 years experience using CAD software for engineering drawing development
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
:Experience developing detailed engineering drawings with Pro Engineer (CREO), Solid Works, or Solid Edge.
:Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
:Ability to work well within an office environment and with shop personnel

Physical and Mental Requirements
:Ability to compute ratio and proportion, mensuration, logarithms, practical algebra, geometric construction and essentials of trigonometry
:Ability to read methods and procedures in mechanical drawing and layout work
:Ability to write reports with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar
:Ability to learn software applications and processes quickly. Sitting
:Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
