Mechanical Superintendent - InternationalLOCATIONSInternational - Middle EastSUMMARYManages field operations specifically relating to building mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, building automation controls, fire protection, wastewater treatment, fuel tanks and distribution systems, water purification and treatment systems, and mechanical site utilities) in order to achieve a satisfactory, orderly level of production by crafts and subcontractors. Enforces all relevant safety and quality control policies and procedures in assigned area. Ensures that work meets the owner's expectations, produces satisfactory profits, meets time limitations and contractual requirements.RESPONSIBILITIESWorks closely with Project Superintendent Project Manager, Quality Control Manager and Home Office Mechanical Procurement coordinator as required, in formulating, discussing and finalizing the overall plan of operations, job layout, job schedule, etc.Manages the day-to-day work of crafts and subcontractors in field, delegates work through foreman and/or subcontractor representatives. Must work with subcontractors of different cultures and languages.Maintains regular communications with project staff to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.Reviews plans and specifications of job, job budget and estimate with project manager and project superintendent to ensure that quantities, values, manpower requirements and deliveries of various divisions of job are understood.Participates in weekly progress meetings with subcontractors.Assists in preparation of plan at beginning of job, for receiving, storing and handling materials as required.Assists in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.Maintains best possible relationship with owner and architectural-engineering firm associated with job. Strives to develop spirit of cooperation and respect between Caddell and representatives of the other partners on the project.Performs additional assignments per project manager's and project superintendent's direction.Performs quantity surveys and estimates based on project plans and specifications for plumbing and mechanical systems.REQUIREMENTSEducation/Experience: Minimum high school diploma/GED and 15 years total construction management experience required. A minimum of five years' design/build experience with mechanical systems required. Four-year degree in building science, construction management, or engineering and ten years total construction management experience preferred.Certifications, Licenses, etc.: Current clearance, or the ability to obtain, a Department of Defense minimum secret security clearance required.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong leadership and management skills required. Deep knowledge and understanding of electrical systems required. Requires excellent technical and management skills. Strong client relations skills are a must. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage costs and control schedule. Excellent knowledge of safety requirements. Ability to coach, lead and motivate multinational and multi-disciplined employees.
