Job Description Brief Position Description: The incumbent’s primary responsibility is work as part of a team to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the plant equipment in order to maximize operational efficiency in an environment of continuous training and improvement; to maintain, troubleshoot and repair plant equipment. The Mechanical Maintenance Millwright is also responsible to ensure that all work is completed in a safe, efficient and timely manner and in compliance with environmental requirements. Nature and Scope 1. Performs work in the area of mechanical maintenance, fabrication, assembly, welding, and cutting using sound maintenance practices designed to maintain high reliability. 2. Dismantles, repairs, and reassembles complex mechanical equipment. 3. Troubleshoot potential concerns required to achieve and maintain maximum productivity. 4. The incumbent will be responsible for reading and understanding assigned work orders and will report constructive feedback and specific details of repair 5. Report maintenance problems to the appropriate supervisor, coordinator or engineer for action and/or participate in corrective actions if appropriate. 6. Keep up-to-date on all maintenance and safety procedural changes and be instrumental in developing new procedures as required. 7. Make preventive/proactive inspections and document findings as determined by the maintenance supervisor, maintenance coordinator and focus groups 8. Primary support and leadership in major repairs to facilitate plant operation. 9. Perform necessary tasks to ensure good housekeeping for a safe and efficient operation. 10. Safely operate mobile equipment as required to complete assigned tasks. 11. Identify; report and assist in resolution of safety and environmental concerns and work practices that may affect the Health & Safety of employees or other parties. 12. Work with little or no supervision and in harmony with co-workers. 13. Perform any and all other duties as may be assigned from time to time. Work any shifts, including weekends and paid holidays as schedules dictate. Qualifications: Educational Requirements: · High school diploma or GED Experience/Skills Requirements: · 3-5 years of related experience. Hands on experience with large industrial crushing, grinding and pyro-processing equipment. · Strong mechanical background with experience as a skilled tradesperson is extremely helpful and necessary in most instances. ADA Limitations While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to travel through a cement plant, ie, walk over obstacles, climb stairs and ladders, lift heavy or awkward parts, wear personal protective equipment (steel toe boots, hardhat, safety glasses, fall protection, etc.). The employee will at times be exposed to extremely hot/cold, dusty, noisy, or dark situations. At times, work will be performed at heights or in confined spaces. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, proximity to electrical equipment, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
