Job Description:/h3:
Birmingham based Healthcare Real Estate Development and Property Management firm is currently looking for a Director of Facilities and Construction. This position will ensure optimal functioning of building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, elevators, HVAC, etc.
Required: 5 plus years of practical
construction/facilities work experience, healthcare related environment a plus.
Candidate must possess strong customer service and project management skills and must display a sense of urgency in following up with requests.
Preferred: A bachelors degree in construction science, construction management, building science or a related field and experience in Healthcare or hospital setting.
:Should be flexible and work effectively in a fast:paced environment
:Ability to manage several projects at once across the managed portfolio, experience as a Project Manager in Construction would be helpful
:Must be able to read building plans and drawings, including engineering and architectural
:Familiarity with software programs for web based tenant work order and preventative maintenance systems
:Strong verbal and written communication skills
:Strong background and knowledge of building mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, particularly HVAC
:Ability to establish a good working relationship with owners, managers, and vendors.
:Ability to manage capital projects to include tenant improvements from design to completion
:Ability to oversee and improve the Energy Management Systems/Building Automation Systems to promote building efficiency and utility cost reduction
:Ability to assist in the transition of buildings from development to placement in service, including a commissioning process
:Complete physical semi:annual comprehensive property inspections and maintain property inventory items including tools, furniture, computer, etc.
:Ability to standardize a preventative maintenance program for the managed portfolio, with consideration given for variation in the physical plant for each property
Computer Skills:
:Strong computer aptitude (will be tested on proficiency in these applications)
:Working knowledge of MS Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook
