Director : Maintenance and Technology
Job Description:
Responsible for maintaining and improving the maintenance processes at Fairfield Tubular Operations. Provide leadership, solutions, and strategic direction to ensure that Reliability Centered Maintenance is successfully implemented to achieve world class results. Also responsible for leading efforts to identify and execute improvement opportunities by using Lean Six Sigma methodologies in:line with U.S. Steels strategic goals.
*Champions our core value of Safety First, by ensuring safety procedures are developed and followed, along with maintaining world class physical conditions
* Ensure quality, continuity, and efficiency of repair and maintenance for the facility
*Establish and lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs
*Review, coordinate and monitor contractor activity in the facility, including implementation of contractor reduction projects for the plant.
*Serve as local champion for the Corporate Reliability Centered Maintenance program ensuring there is an understanding and an acceptance of its goals by all levels of employees
*Introduce and champion Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives
*Proactively engage in identifying meaningful opportunities for improving efficiencies
*Identify and prioritize project opportunities and manage complex, cross:functional, and company:wide projects
*Develop operational, metrics:based benchmarking to identify and share best practices
*Deliver significant results through successful implementation of projects
*Act as a change agent to drive strategies and support management/cross functional designs and decisions
*Plans and manages division budget and expenditures to ensure strategic and cost effective operations are adhered to
*Responsible for performance management of direct report Area Managers
*Bachelors degree in Engineering or a closely related technical field required; masters degree preferred
*A minimum of 10 years of relevant manufacturing industry experience
*Proven track record of Preventive
Maintenance/Predictive Maintenance project management
*Lean Six Sigma certification desirable
*Experience leading cross:functional teams on company:wide projects leveraging Lean Six Sigma methodologies
*Ability to lead and influence high:performing teams
*Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills
*Exceptional communication and influencing skills to interact at all levels
*Ability to lead change
*Instills a Reliability Centered Maintenance culture throughout the facility
*Prioritizes multiple projects to ensure proper allocation of people and financial resources
*Accountable for identifying and executing improvement opportunities by using Lean Six Sigma methodologies
* Responsible for leadership and mentorship of team, Belts, and leaders in transformation activities, events, and projects
*Makes business decisions that have longer:term impact on the company
