Learn more below.Function: This position has responsibility for sourcing of assigned requisitions. Must be able to lead and manage multiple concurrent sourcing projects. Objective of position: Manages sourcing activities for one or more categories of spend, with the goal of achieving significant initial cost reductions. Works closely with key stakeholders in member organizations and in corporate functions to develop effective cost reduction strategies, develop RFPs and implementation plans. Reviews existing procedures and examines opportunities to streamline purchasing and sourcing needs. Directs activities to limit costs, improve accuracy and customer service. Key responsibilities: The Sourcing ManagerA?s primary responsibility is the capture of real savings through negotiating contracts with suppliers, and savings captured from other cost reduction initiatives. Additionally, the Sourcing Manager is responsible for making sure requisitions are processed expeditiously, in a manner consistent and compliant with Compass Bank rules and regulations.Essential Skills: A: Problem:solving and analytical skills : able to construct/execute multiple complex analyses (cost:price analyses) simultaneously. A: Project management and planning skills : able to develop, manage and execute comprehensive multi:task work plans. A: Contract negotiating and writing skills : candidate must have proven success in establishing business requirements, negotiating scopes of work and contract terms and writing and executing complex agreements. A: Quick study : able to gain a fact based understanding of current supplier base, supplier economics and major trends in relevant markets. A: Communication skills : strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communicator. A: Computer literacy : proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and other software tools to complete and manage sourcing projects. Knowledge of eProcurement or other sourcing software is preferred.A: Self:starter and independent worker : able to juggle priorities and to establish work plans and drive to completion with minimum supervision. A: Flexibility and adaptability : aggressively take the lead on implementation of savings opportunities that affect numerous lines of business A: Strong leadership and people management skills with and ability to lead cross function teams and obtain buy:in.
