Position Type and Expected Work Hours
This is a permanent, full-time position sometimes requiring occasional evening and weekend hours as projects demands dictate as well as occasional travel.

Primary Purpose
The Senior Safety Specialist manages and administers the corporate safety program and ensures compliance with all federal and state safety and health standards and regulations.

Job Profile/Responsibilities
• Ensure that employees have a safe working environment
• Enforce actions necessary to ensure a safe work environment
• Review, update, and administer policies and programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulations
• Review preconstruction documents
• Ensure contractor activities are preplanned for safety through job hazard analysis review
• Conduct weekly tool box talks
• Perform daily site inspections and safety audits
• Complete full investigations and reports for all incidents and accidents
• Identify known potential exposures and recommend corrective actions
• Develop, implement, and document necessary training for field supervisors and employees
• Ensure that subcontractors adhere to our corporate safety procedures and processes
• Coordinate with internal project managers, general contractors, and owner representatives regarding project specific safety policies and procedures
• Interact, influence and engage with all levels of management to support the corporate safety program

Requirements
• Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in the field of electrical construction or construction management
• Minimum 4-year degree from an accredited college or university. Preferred disciplines are occupational safety and health, environmental safety and health, safety or environmental management
• CSP, CHST, or CSHO (Certified Safety & Health Official) certification is highly desired
• Knowledge of OSHA, federal, and state HSE standards and regulations
• OSHA 500 certified and qualified to train others in multiple areas of construction safety
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Current driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record
