Spire Alabama is seeking a Manager of Residential Business Development to work in the Birmingham, Alabama location. The Manager will lead the Residential Business Development team in selling natural gas services within the residential new construction market.
Duties and Responsibilities:
:Develops and maintains the annual strategic plan for the Residential Business Development channel
:Clearly articulates and executes the strategic plan for lead generation, pipeline management and account management
:Sets sales goals and expectations with team members
:Gives feedback and ensures direct reports are fully engaged in executing the sales process
:Assigns territories and accounts
:Prepares and reviews proposals, incentive options and economic models
:Assists legal team with preparation of natural gas pipeline extension agreements
:Manages the opportunity pipeline by leading the team in surveying job sites, negotiating, upselling and ensuring compliance with contracts
:Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal partners that support growth
:Provides a high level of customer service to key customers and trade partners
:Uses SalesForce CRM to track opportunities and monitor progress towards goals
:Coordinates customer engagements including trade shows, conferences and other events to build and maintain relationships with members of the residential building industry
:Develops skilled sales professionals that aggressively pursue and confidently win sales opportunities in the residential new construction market
:Monitors residential market trends and building forecasts to direct and plan expansion of the distribution system
:Prepares and manages annual O and M budget
:All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
:Supervises Residential Business Development Rep
Required Education: (may include certifications, licenses and registrations)
:Bachelors degree
Required Experience: (may include certifications, licenses and registrations)
:Five years minimum of business to business sales or management/supervisory experience of exempt staff
Required knowledge, skill and abilities:
:Requires a high level of tact, diplomacy and professionalism
:Provides candid feedback regarding performance to direct reports
:Highly skilled in the art of negotiation
:Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to establish rapport with a diverse array of people
:Ability to motivate and lead a diverse team of professionals
:Works independently and manages time effectively
:Manages multiple projects with competing priorities
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
:Supervision/ Management experience a plus
:SalesForce CRM proficiency
:Familiarity with residential new construction market
:Understanding of the natural gas distribution industry
Physical demands, work environment and work schedule:

:Requires frequent phone calls and interruption both during and after working hours.
