O'Neal Steel is currently seeking an Application Developer for our Corporate office in Birmingham, Alabama. The Application Developer acting under general supervision, designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs from detailed specifications. Maintains and documents those programs. General interaction with end users to understand problems or minor application enhancements. Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To: Develop detail program logic from written specifications. Code program instructions. Prepare detail test data and define testing schedule. Analyze test results. Maintain database tables using SQL or ORACLE. Provide basic support for users. Instruct users on the use of applications. Report project progress to team leader or Software Services Manager. Requirements Required Education and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Services (MIS). Demonstrated skills in some of the following languages and technologies, this includes but is not limited to: .Net, C#, VBScript, JavaScript, C++, Visual Basic, ODBC, Data Mapping, ORACLE, and SQL. Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office suite or similar desktop applications. Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Demonstrated analytical and interpretational skill sets, which include problem solving, developing and implementing technical ideas. Minimum 1 a€" 2 years' experience using some form of computer language or technology in the role of a programmer, developer or software engineer.
