You play a vital role in helping to protect families by contacting families who have responded to our marketing. You sell, solicit, differentiate and negotiate insurance plans that match the needs and budget of your assigned or prospective customers portfolio. Complete enrollment paperwork.

General Information
Independent Life and Health Insurance Agent : (Field Underwriter) selling the policies of several companies. Matching insurance policies for their clients with the company that offers the best rate and coverage.
Work from home, travel to families.
Entry Level reporting to only one Agency Manager with opportunity for promotion every 2 months based on your own performance.
:Interview prospective clients to obtain data about their financial resources and needs and to discuss any existing coverage.
:Explain features, advantages and disadvantages of various policies to promote sale of insurance plans.
:Select one of our 15 companies that provides the type of coverage requested by client.
:Customize insurance programs to suit individual customers, often covering a variety of risks.
:Contact underwriters and submit forms to obtain binding coverage.
:Calculate premiums and establish payment method.
:Ensure that policy requirements are fulfilled, including any necessary medical examinations and the completion of appropriate forms.
:Perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining records and handling policy renewals.
:Seek out new clients and develop clientele by networking to find new customers and generate lists of prospective clients.

:No Life insurance experience necessary

:High School Diploma/equivalent required, college experience a plus
:Must acquire and maintain State Life/Health insurance license as required
:Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
:Minimum 1 year successful business:to:consumer sales experience
:Excellent interpersonal skills including written, verbal and presentation delivery with ability to clearly communicate the features and benefits of insurance and other ancillary products to customers
:Strong computer skills
:Must have own transportation to and from client meetings
:Applicant must be available to work a flexible schedule including possible evenings and weekends.

Insurance sales agents must have a license in the states where they work (or be willing and able to attain a license). Separate licenses are required for agents to sell life and health insurance and property and casualty insurance. Licenses are issued only to applicants who complete specified courses and who pass state exams covering insurance fundamentals and state insurance laws. Most state licensing authorities also require agents to take continuing education courses focusing on insurance laws, consumer protection, ethics, and the technical details of various insurance policies.
