To provide actuarial analysis and support for pricing, loss reserving, and planning for the various business operations of American Mining Insurance Group (AMIG). Will work closely with assigned a designated segment Chief Actuary to accomplish key initiatives.Under guidance of a designated segment Chief Actuary, project ultimate losses and LAE for the business segments of AMIG and measure overall loss, ALAE, and ULAE reserve adequaciesUnder guidance of a designated segment Chief Actuary, provide periodic ultimate loss and LAE analysis to assist company with run:off of its obligations under the Federal Coal Mine Health and Safety act of 1969, as amended.Review the rate adequacy of individual states, review any outstanding bureau loss cost revisions, and recommend rate changesFile to adopt loss cost, LCM, and any other pricing revisionsMaintain and update the pricing assumptions in the pricing models for underwritingUnder guidance of a designated segment Chief Actuary, prepare monthly price monitor reports, including rate change, retention and schedule rating statisticsParticipate in quarterly CFO Calls with AMIG President and CFO and WRBC staff as well as annual budget/planning callProvide support to W. R. Berkley Corporate (WRBC) for completion of the Statement of Actuarial Opinion for American Mining Insurance CompanyAssist the CFO as well as the Finance and Marketing/Business Development departments in the annual planning processProvide actuarial support for loss sensitive products and miscellaneous rating variablesMaintain dialogue with claims department and discuss changes in trends, benefit reforms, other law changes, and changes in judicial rulingsProvide oversight as needed with the preparation of periodic data calls and statistical unit reporting for the various rating bureaus to which American Mining Insurance Company reportsProvide actuarial support and research to other projects as they are requested by AMIG or WRBCBe actively involved with Claims, Underwriting and Finance to support various initiativesResponsible for preparing profitability analysis by state, niche, hazard group, etc.Utilization of data warehouse for premium and loss data for actuarial analysisWith the assistance of WRBCA?s corporate actuarial staff, responsible for development/updating of predictive analytics modelingPromote and ensure data quality in AMIGA?s claims and underwriting systemsPROFESSIONALISM: Must exhibit professional behavior at all times while representing or being identified as an employee of AMIG.Demonstrate the use of tact and discretion in all communications and provide a positive contribution to the morale of the department.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with unit staff, clients, providers, and other departments of AMIGOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Keep abreast of industry issues, trends and actuarial methodologies by reading literature, attending continuing education and networking.Maintain understanding of company products and goals. Establish and maintain execellent working relationships with company senior staff members.Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with WRBC actuarial department and AMIG senior staff.
