Our partner in Birmingham, AL is searching for an Accounting Assistant to assist in Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables. Objective:The Accounting Assistant will work with the Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables. This position supports multiple office locations and various departments within the company. Compensation is $15-$18 an hour. Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):Accounts Payables- key, scan, index, download and process vendor invoices into imaging system as neededComplete vendor credit applications and contact vendors for follow up when neededCredit Card Reconciliation using excel for corporate travel purchase card reconciliations to ensure proper and timely job cost accountingMonthly Bank reconciliationsResponsible for auditing account receipts and reconciling cash to the general ledger Maintain vendor reference sheetEvaluate W9s for accuracyGather information for year-end financial audit and 1099 processProcess, print and deliver check runs and other forms of paymentCoordinate mailing of checks dailyResearch exceptions which may have occurred during payment processingSupport Accounting Department as needed Requirements:Minimum of 2 years of experience in an office environment- accounting or finance department experience preferred. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast pace environment and remain detail-orientedExcellent research and problem solving skillsAbility to work in a team environmentExperience with Microsoft Word and Excel applicationsExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsAbility to input data via 10 keypad at high level of proficiency
